Biography

Bowie Adelaide Durand was born October 1, 1994 in the small town of Redacre, Oregon. her parents, Lawrence and Adelaide Durand, were homegrown citizens of Redacre and diehard believers of the paranormal. Adelaide’s mother, Bowie’s grandmother, was a self-proclaimed witch and used herbal remedies to concoct whatever was needed at the time. Adelaide henceforth grew up without powers, but with a bright apothecary future. Adelaide became a nurse and married Lawrence, a town lawyer, right out of college. The pair had three children: Bowie, the oldest daughter; Jude, the middle child; and Jett, the only boy. Bowie grew up close to her siblings, but never quite matched their passions. Jude was into music and fine arts while Jett was an all-American athlete stereotype. Bowie, on the other hand, found herself interested in the world around her: people, places, feelings, and connections. The family stayed close until Bowie was 18 and the entire Durand family moved to California to provide a more steady life thanks to a powerful promotion for her father. Bowie chose to stay in Redacre for a few months, settling things here and there before going off on her own: starting with Nevada.

In a small town in Nevada, Bowie found herself finally feeling welcome for her odd habits and unique abilities. This is where she was able to see that the so-called ‘crazy’ things that supposedly only happened in Redacre, Oregon weren’t just happening in her hometown. Bowie expanded her knowledge and opened a shop: Belladonna’s with the help of a few similar to herself. Becoming a business woman wasn’t the only thing that Bowie did in Nevada–Bowie also fell in love for the very first time. All her life, Bowie had seen a strong and healthy marriage between her parents, grandparents and even her siblings, but the redhead didn’t want that kind of domestic life. Bowie had planned to share her love with whoever she pleased and never commit to a single person, but her plans went askew. On July 18, 2015, Bowie Adelaide Durand married the love of her life Antonio Nicolas-Vasquez after a whirlwind romance. The two took on the name Nicolas-Durand. It was a fast relationship and an even faster marriage, but Bowie, being the empathetic witch that she was, knew he was right for her. Just over a month into their marriage, Tony went for a walk after a few hard days and he never returned. Bowie knew almost instantly that he was gone. Her heart had never felt pain that way. She began to have panic attacks nightly, crying until she would find herself having nightmares about her love. She tried every remedy she knew to get the pain out of her heart, but the only thing that actually helped was to feel the sickeningly deep suffering. It didn’t help that shortly after he left, Bowie found out that she would be expecting his child. Without wanting to be pitied in Nevada, Bowie packed up their things, gave his dog to her brother and took her cat, Borden, to Louisiana.

In Louisiana, Bowie quickly made reliable friends which helped keep her busy as she soon miscarried the child he was so prepared to love. The heartbroken, abandoned, pained girl found solace in smoking and gambling. She was good at winning because of her powers and often felt remorse after a large payout. Although she enjoyed her life in Louisiana, Bowie couldn’t help but feel as if her coping mechanisms were haltering her achievements in love. So, at the age of 22 and almost a year after the disappearance of her husband, Bowie began to focus herself back on being the business woman that she loved to be back in Nevada. The girl quickly opened occult shops in Louisiana and another in Virginia before she returned to her hometown of Fallkirk, Maine on January 1, 2018.

Now back in Redacre, Bowie opened the shop with the promise of planting roots rather than gathering data and letting her business flourish on it’s own. She’s ready to spend the rest of her life in the small town, helping the community that raised her to be a strong independent woman. She’s happy to be back and helping the town's economy.
